Drilling Rig Relocation in Iraq
The client needed to relocate two sets of 70D drilling rigs (approx. 25,000 cubic meters) from the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq to the Rumaila oil field in southern Iraq.
At the time, ISIS extremists were rampant in central Iraq, effectively cutting off the direct north-south route.
Unialltrans accepted this critical mission, adopting a strategy of "progress through detour." Through meticulous planning and a seamless relay of road and sea transport, we executed a massive journey around the Arabian Peninsula, successfully navigating the crisis to deliver the rigs safely and on schedule.
